Yes – I love coding and I love contributing to a team and making things happen. I’m that person who can put their head down and create something amazing, but I’m also that person who senses when things aren’t right with their colleagues and gets out of their bubble to cheer them up and motivate them to build something together. I’m that person who values feedback given on my Github PR because I’m a constant learner. I’m very grateful for this being part of my personality because I feel that at this level it’s not just about coding anymore, but about the bigger product picture and about soft skills with the team.
Hi, I’m Helen! I’ve been developing solutions in code for over 13 years – even before I graduated in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Toledo in Ohio. I feel like I’ve pretty much done it all, and as you learn more about me, you’ll realize that I like to be able to do it all and really know what is going on behind the curtains of every aspect of a product!
My Approach
I’ve cultivated expertise across iOS, backend, and frontend development. This breadth allows me to see the bigger picture and build more cohesive solutions. I believe the best engineers are those who can bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation—translating complex requirements into elegant, scalable code while keeping user experience at the forefront.
What I Bring
iOS Expertise
I specialize in modern iOS development using SwiftUI and UIKit, with deep experience in app architecture, performance optimization, and Apple’s ecosystem. From implementing complex data synchronization systems to leading large-scale refactoring initiatives, I’ve tackled challenges ranging from small startups to global platforms like Indeed.
Full-Stack Perspective
My experience spans the entire technology stack—from Node.js backends and database design to React frontends and DevOps. This comprehensive understanding helps me make better architectural decisions and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Technical Leadership
I’ve led retrospectives, mentored junior developers, and spearheaded technical initiatives that improved both code quality and team productivity. Whether it’s convincing stakeholders to adopt SwiftUI or designing systems that balance user needs with business constraints, I focus on driving impactful change.
Energy!
I really believe working with a team isn’t about being in your own bubble, but about collaboration, empathy and energy. It’s about contributing to each other’s code or perhaps building things together if we’ve got different functions in a squad. When you talk to me you’ll notice that I’m almost always bringing my best version to the table. I pride myself in having an overall positive attitude towards challenges and life in general.

Led mobile team retrospectives and created sophisticated troubleshooting tools that enabled support teams to better serve users.
Peanut App (2022-2023)
Spearheaded a comprehensive UIKit to SwiftUI migration initiative, improving code maintainability and enabling better testing practices. Implemented a complete in-app purchase system using StoreKit, directly contributing to the company’s revenue growth.
Trackin’Fit (Personal Project)
Built a full-stack fitness tracking application from the ground up, featuring sophisticated photo alignment technology and offline-first architecture. The project showcases my ability to handle everything from SwiftUI navigation patterns to complex data synchronization between mobile and backend systems.
Beyond Code
During the pandemic, I founded Racklete, where I designed and manufactured portable fitness equipment for CrossFit athletes. This venture taught me invaluable lessons about product development, customer needs, and the intersection of technical skills with business acumen. Managing everything from welding drawings to French-language marketing content gave me a deep appreciation for how technology serves real human needs.
Global Perspective
Having worked across multiple countries and cultures—from Brazil to the US, France, and the UK—I bring a global perspective to technology development. I’m fluent in English, Portuguese, and French, with intermediate Spanish and Italian. This international experience has shaped my approach to building products that work across diverse markets and user bases.
Let’s Connect
I’m always interested in discussing challenging technical problems, sharing knowledge about iOS development, or exploring opportunities where I can make a meaningful impact. Whether you’re looking to collaborate on a project or just want to chat about the latest in mobile technology, I’d love to hear from you.
